New Music

Well, after nearly 3 months with Jesus Adrian Romero on my playlist I have finally decided to make a change. I will miss him... I kept putting off the change because I love his music so much...and I heard from a lot of you who feel the same way!

This time I am showcasing another Colombian artist. Jorge Villamizar is a Colombian musician, singer and composer and you can read more about him HERE. He is also the lead singer of a group called BACILOS.

It is very comon to hear their music here on the radio, in stores, riding the bus, etc... They mostly sing about life and love.

Enjoy!

Getting Ready

One of the things we have to do to get ready for our teams is preparing to feed them! Planning Menu´s, Shopping lists, Grocery Stores, Transportation, etc... Here´s a peek at our typical team grocery shopping day...

Erika and Pili picking out the meat.

Me in line with all 5 of our super-sized shopping carts. One of them is for the children´s feeding center but the rest are for a week with a team!

Guillermo helped with the heavy stuff! It´s great to have guys with muscles!

We usually fill up our car plus a taxi (if it´s a small team we can fit it all in our car) and then head to the dock where a boat is waiting to take everything to the island.

They both just graduated from university, Pilar in Social Work and Guillermo in Kinesiology (it´s like Physical Therapy). Two months ago they were married and spent a month long honeymoon in Brazil. Guillermo will be working as an Assistant for Jorge which will involve a wide variety of things as well as offering PT in the community when needed.
Pilar will be working on our Children´s Ministry team with the Child Sponsorship program and discipleship.

YWAM Americas Regional Leadership Conference

The last week in April we had the opportunity to participate in the regional leadership conference for YWAM in the Americas. Not because we are regional leaders but because the conference was held in Cartagena and we helped with the logistics for the conference. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones! There were regional leaders representing as far north as Greenland all the way down to the southern tip of Chile! Here are a few photo highlights but you can see more HERE! It is an honor to serve alongside such wonderful people who have dedicated their lives to furthering God´s Kingdom here on earth through full-time service in missions.

Us with Peter Iliyn who is a dear friend and currently serves as YWAM´s North America Director.

Shirley and Wedge Alman are the founders of YWAM Colombia.

Ricardo and Marilu Rodriguez are the regional directors for the Northern Cone of South America.

Jorge hanging out with friends, old and new.

Jim Steir is the founder of YWAM Brazil and currently serves as the YWAM Americas Director.
