More Kiki

I know you are all anxious to see how fast Kiki is growing so I am posting these photos JUST FOR YOU!!! :)))

She loves to use my feet and legs as her pillow!

She naps while I work! She´s a great office companion, until she wakes up and goes crazy with the papers and pens and whatever else she can get her paws on!

She loves to hear Jorge play the guitar!

Her big sisters have finally accepted her as part of the family!

She is very faithful at reading her Bible every day!

Today she caught her FIRST MOUSE!!! We are so proud!!!

The Rains Family

Another totally awesome (yes, I´m an 80´s girl) thing that happened last month was that my friends, the Rains Family, got to come to Cartagena for a whole month! Kevin, Tracy and I went to college together at Cedarville College in Ohio and Kevin is the one who first got me hooked up with YWAM . Kevin and Tracy are pastors at Vineyard Central in Norwood, Ohio and we hadn´t seen each other in like 16 years! Since then they got married, had two great kids, Izaac and Zoe, and became pastors with the Vineyard...so we had a lot to catch up on! They were in Colombia finalizing the adoption process for the cutest and sweetest little Colombiana named Treisy! It was truely a joy and an honor to be a part of that whole process with them and to witness first hand how the Lord knitted them together!!!

Here are a few of my favorite shots but you can see more photos of our time together here!

The Rains Family at the San Felipe fort in Cartagena, with the Colombian flag flying behind. Treisy adapted so well with her new family, it was amazing for all to watch! From the first day she called them Mamá, Papá, Hermano and Hermana...it was so cute and sweet to see. At the orphanage in Bogotá where she grew up they said that she has talked for years about how one day her ¨Papá Gringo¨ would come and get her and take her to the United States to live in a big house with siblings, and uncles and aunts and Grandparents. It´s really neat because that is exactly what happened. It´s as if the Lord was preparing her for what was to come!

Treisy, Izaac and Zoe at the beach.

Me and Treisy! The truth is that this little girl stole our hearts! She is such a charmer! She is such a talker, smart, funny, inquisitive, etc... it was a real joy to have met her!

With Treisy and Zoe on the wall of the old city. Zoe is a sweetie too...she is a little homemaker and was always keeping watch over Treisy!

Kiki

Almost 2 weeks ago this little cutie wandered into our lives...I heard quite the ruckus being made on the front porch and looked out the window to find my dogs trying their best to attack this tiny kitten...she stood her ground though and then I ran out and swept her up! Much to the dismay of my dogs, she has been here ever since and is now part of the family. She is quicky growing into her ears and keeps us laughing all the time with her mischeviousness and sweetness!

The Latest in Bocachica

Here´s an overview of what has been going on in Bocachica the last few weeks...not necessarily in this order:

BASKETBALL WORKSHOP

A last-minute contact brought a basketball team from the USA to do a one-day workshop with the kids in Bocachica.

PHYSICAL THERAPY
For those of you who didn´t know, our new staffer, Guillermo (from Brazil/Chile) is a Physical Therapist and God is using his profession to help the people in Bocachica. What an incredible blessing it is for the them to have this opportunity right on thier door-step!

BUTTERFLY WORKSHOP
Yolanda is back doing her decorating workshops with the local ladies...this time they are making butterflies.

YWAM SWITZERLAND TEAM
We had a DTS outreach team from the YWAM base in Lausanne, Switzerland with us this month. There were 11 of them but none of them were Swiss...we had 1 Brit and 10 Koreans. They did all kinds of activities with the kids, youth and elderly.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP
Last month was the beginning of the second semester of the local school and our staff girls got together school supply packets to hand out to the kids in our sponsorship program.

KID´S STUFF
Every Thursday night during our cell group meeting Pili and Josefina take the kids out for an age appropriate activity while the youth and adults stay to hear the teaching. They usually really have their hands full but they are very gifted to work with kids and it´s a blessing to have them!

CLINIC PROGRESS
Last week we took down all the scaffoldings and supports (I don´t know the correct terms in English so I hope you know what I am talking about) from building the concrete roof on the second wing of the clinic.

MISSION IMPROVEMENTS
Samy and Guillermo built a few new sidewalks in the mission, just in time for the rainy season when things get muddy and yucky!
