Rest In Peace Mamita

We just got home to Cartagena today at 5 :20 pm. We got our luggage in, loved on our animals for a few seconds and then went straight to call to see about Jorge´s Mom...she had just passed away 2 minutes before...the exact time we arrived home!

We talked with a few of Jorge´s brothers and sisters and we feel so badly that we can´t be with them right now. There are a lot of mixed emotions. We know that she is with Jesus and even though she suffered a lot physically over the last few months and especially the last few days, the moment she passed away was a peaceful moment and we are grateful for that.

To say that my mother-in-law was a wonderful Godly woman is an understatement. We will miss her so much!! Words fail greatly in times like these. Jorge and I are doing OK...the sadness comes in waves and we cry and then we remember where she is now and that we will see her again someday and it brings peace, at least for a little while.

We are grateful that we were able to be by her side for the last month of her life. We slept in the bed next to hers and helped care for her through the nights and during the days. We had many special moments talking, sharing, and reminiscing with her. We laughed together and cried together. It truely was a gift that we will treasure forever.

Thank you all for remembering us during this time. We appreciate your prayers!!

I still have my guest book with her thumbprint. I know she left more than her thumbprints on your hearts. We send our love and prayers during this difficult time.
We love you both
