November 1 & 2

November 1st and 2nd are national holidays here in Mexico and although there are different degrees to which people go to celebrate this holiday, the basic idea is to remember your loved ones who have passed away. So, we went to visit the gravestones of Jorge´s sister, Blanca, and his nephew, Uriel.

Blanca died almost 5 1/2 years ago of cancer. She was 42 years old and left two daughters who at the time were 15 and 21. Blanca was a woman of faith, totally sold out to Jesus! She was the heart of the family, the one who always got everybody together and also the one who kept everyone on task. She was a great cook and had an awesome gift of hospitality! Words can´t even describe how much we miss her!!!

Uriel was the first grandson of the Silva´s family. He died almost 2 years ago at the age of 26. He was in a car accident with 3 other people and all 4 were killed. The driver of the other car was at fault, he was drunk and also high on drugs. He survived without a scratch. The family, especially Uriel´s mom (Jorge´s sister, Isabel) is still coming to terms with his death.
